sometimes in life its very easy to get down on ourselves.
we worry because we dont have this, we dont have that, we cant do this, we cant do that...
well...focus on what you *can* do, and what you *do* have.
have a positive mindset & a good attitude.
no matter what you do, you can be mind over matter,
you just have to think that way.
you can choose to be content. you might not be happy but you can
accept the current situation for what it is, and try to be
lighthearted, even when inner sadness wants to rule your heart.
bottom line...do not let sadness rule your heart. do & say what
makes you contented & at peace with the world.
if you do the right thing everything else will fall into place.

the dirty on college: what no one else will tell you (this ones for the ladies)
LADIES...my top tips if youre going away to college:
- bring quarters
- dont sleep with that cute guy. youll totally regret it later & someone will probably post the video on youtube.
- dont fight with your roommate over some dude. trust me, honey, it aint worth it.
- that brings me to another point. you can date in college, but dont date the crazy people. you know what i mean...[insert crazy story here]. dont do it. anyways, you got french class at 8am so why are you out so late anyway...?
- match dot com is a p.o.s. operation. so is craigslist...unless youre there to buy an effing couch.
- jdate, plentyoffish, backpage, ok cupid, christian mingle, eharmony...it can be fun but be cautious. try to meet people irl like...twitter, facebook...the staples of social media. reliable-like places! LOL. j/k. hey if online is what works for you, more power to you.
- i swear to g*d, please just stop worrying about what everyone thinks. no one wants to hang around a wannabe. just do you, & you will be absolutely fine & people will love you.
- above all, be yourself & dont compromise your values & what you believe in.
- focus on school & in the end, you will be the superstar. i have learned that the nerdy girl always gets the hot husband.
- know when to walk away.

some things you have to believe: true love & other adventures in reality.
maybe you thought true love would never happen to you.
but, love always gets the best of us.
right when you least expect it, it happens.
many waters cannot quench the fires of love burning within you.
many loves cannot wash it away.
the only thing that remains is your one true love,
the one that only truly ever loved you.
all talking will cease,
yes, everything will be silent,
in the moment youre finally with your true love.
words will fail to describe,
language will fail you...
nor will spoken language be necessary,
in the day of your power,
in the night of determination,
ecstasy in exultation.
but, love always gets the best of us.

the difference between sucks & success: getting more online & foot traffic.
many of the best entrepreneurs out there did not start out on top. they had to work their way from the bottom up, and move their way up the ladder.
similarly, you shouldnt get discouraged if you dont have the pageviews or traffic youre trying to get on your website, or if your storefront business (online or offline) is suffering dire economic times.
you have to think creatively. i was watching the other day a show called "god, guns, & automobiles," where car salesman Mark Muller got the idea of doing a UFO-themed car sale to get people interested in coming in and looking at cars. he inflated a huge silver flying saucer balloon, created a crop circle UFO landing spot on land in the back of his property that he didnt even own, and created a UFO video for a commercial that used a simple toy flying in the sky which was lighted at night. the icing on the cake was buying a 1920s Ford pickup truck, totally restored, so he could put it on display in his shop
what i thought was unique in these actions are elements that entrepreneurs can put into place in their own businesses in order to attract business.
the first order of business: have a unique idea that will attract people to your product or service. in showbiz, we call that having a gimmick. you have got to figure out what your gimmick or angle is. do something that few people, if anyone, does or has done before. i always jokingly say that whoever is the first to offer same day wifi installation is going to be able to corner the market on such a service! LOL. for example.
the second order of business: display something unique that will get people talking about either, your twitter page, facebook page, or other aspect about your business. it could be controversial, artsy, whatever. just get the buzz going on the internet. mix things up a bit. you know what they say, no publicity is bad publicity (well, almost).
the third order of business: be enthusiastic about what you do.
love what you do and all that you want--money, fame, recognition--will all follow.

not knowing when or how.
when i was in my mothers womb,
before i even had a thought you were there.
the gods wrote it on the scrolls that one day we would meet,
